Tatar is a Turkic language spoken by around 5 million people, primarily in the Russian republic of Tatarstan (around Kazan) and a substantial diaspora across the former Soviet Union, Turkey, China, and elsewhere. Tatar is written in Cyrillic in Russia, with various Latin and Arabic alternatives historically used. The US Tatar-speaking community is small. Our Tatar translation work is occasional and typically tied to Russian Federation civil documents or academic transcripts.
