Bhojpuri is an Indo-Aryan language spoken by around 50 million people across Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh in India, plus southern Nepal. It's closely related to Hindi but distinct enough to have its own film industry (Bhojpuri cinema) and literature. The Bhojpuri-speaking diaspora extends to Mauritius, Fiji, Trinidad, Guyana, and Suriname — descendants of 19th-century indentured labourers — and some of those communities have since resettled in the United States. Our Bhojpuri translation work is mostly USCIS civil documents and academic transcripts tied to Bihari-region Indian migration.
