Tajik is the official language of Tajikistan, with around 8 million speakers. It's a variety of Persian — closely related to Iranian Farsi and Afghan Dari — but written in Cyrillic (since the Soviet era) rather than Perso-Arabic script. The US Tajik-speaking community is small, concentrated in New York, parts of California, and college towns. Our Tajik translation work is occasional — typically USCIS civil documents, academic transcripts, and Central Asian business contracts.
