About the Nyanja Language

Nyanja is a Bantu language and the national language of Malawi, also widely spoken in Zambia (where the Lusaka-area variety is called Nyanja), Mozambique, and Zimbabwe. Roughly 12 million people speak it. It's the same language as Chichewa, see our Chichewa page. Our Nyanja translation work is occasional and typically tied to Malawian civil documents, academic transcripts, and church records.
