Nuer (Naath) is a Nilotic language spoken by around 2 million people, primarily in South Sudan and the western Ethiopian borderlands. The Nuer are the second-largest ethnic group in South Sudan after the Dinka. The US Nuer-speaking community is concentrated in cities that received South Sudanese refugee resettlement — Omaha, Des Moines, Minneapolis, and parts of Texas. Our Nuer translation work is overwhelmingly USCIS asylum and family-reunification paperwork, alongside the healthcare and school-enrolment documents tied to refugee resettlement.
