Nilo-Hamitic is an outdated linguistic classification that grouped certain Nilotic and Cushitic languages — modern linguistics has largely abandoned the term, recognising the Nilotic languages (Dinka, Nuer, Luo, Maasai, etc.) as part of the Nilo-Saharan family and the Cushitic languages (Somali, Oromo, Afar, etc.) as part of the Afro-Asiatic family. For US translation purposes, requests under "Nilo-Hamitic" need to be resolved to a specific language — see our separate pages for the languages in this region.
