Nepali is the national language of Nepal and one of the official languages of the Indian state of Sikkim, with around 16 million native speakers. The US Nepali-speaking community sits around 200,000 — concentrated in New York City, Texas, Maryland, and the Boston area — and a significant portion are Bhutanese-Nepali refugees resettled through the UN refugee programme in the 2000s and 2010s. We translate Nepali birth and marriage certificates for USCIS, Nepali academic transcripts for US university admissions, and the citizenship documents that come with the Bhutanese refugee population's pathway to US citizenship. Nepali is written in Devanagari, the same script as Hindi.
