About Neapolitan Language

Neapolitan (Napulitano) is a Romance language spoken by around 5 million people in southern Italy — Campania (especially Naples), Calabria, Basilicata, and parts of Abruzzo and Molise. It's classified as a separate language from Italian by UNESCO and many linguists, though Italian dominates in administration and education. The US Neapolitan-speaking community is small and concentrated in Italian-American communities in New York, New Jersey, and parts of Pennsylvania. Most translation work from this region is in Italian rather than Neapolitan.
