Mongolian is the official language of Mongolia, with around 5 million native speakers, plus an additional 6 million speakers in Inner Mongolia (an autonomous region of China). The two communities use different writing systems — Mongolia uses Cyrillic, while Inner Mongolia uses the traditional vertical Mongolian script that descends from Old Uighur. Mongolia is in the middle of a transition back to the traditional script in parallel with Cyrillic. The US Mongolian-American community is around 20,000, concentrated in the Washington DC area, Denver, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Most of our Mongolian translation work is USCIS civil documents and educational transcripts.
