Mizo is a Tibeto-Burman language and the official language of the Indian state of Mizoram, with around 1 million speakers across Mizoram, parts of Manipur and Assam, and adjacent areas of Myanmar and Bangladesh. The US Mizo-speaking community is small, with concentrations in parts of the Northeast and the Bay Area. Our Mizo translation work is occasional and typically tied to USCIS civil documents from Mizoram or academic transcripts. Mizo is written in the Latin alphabet.
