Minnan (Southern Min) is the umbrella term for the Southern Min Chinese varieties — including Hokkien, Teochew, Hainanese, and others — spoken by around 50 million people across southern Fujian, eastern Guangdong, Hainan, Taiwan, and Southeast Asian Chinese communities. The US Minnan-speaking community is concentrated in New York, Houston, and California. Our Minnan translation work overlaps with general Chinese — civil documents are usually in written Mandarin Chinese.
