Karenni is not Karen. The names are one letter apart and the confusion is constant. The Karenni are a distinct people from Kayah State with more than a dozen subgroups, and Kayah, the language most resettled Karenni speak, is a Karenic language separate from S'gaw and Pwo Karen; a S'gaw Karen interpreter cannot interpret it.
