Ishan (Esan) is a Volta-Niger language spoken by around 600,000 people in Esan-speaking communities of Edo State, southern Nigeria. It's closely related to Edo (Bini). The US Ishan-speaking community is part of the broader Nigerian-American population in Houston, Atlanta, Maryland, and the New York-New Jersey area. Our Ishan translation work is occasional and typically tied to Nigerian civil documents from the Esan region being processed for USCIS or academic purposes.
