Hebrew sits at the intersection of three quite different translation needs in the United States. The first is Israeli civil documents — birth certificates, marriage records, identity cards — being translated for USCIS, family courts, and universities. The second is rabbinical and religious documents handled for synagogues, courts, and conversion processes. The third is modern business and academic Hebrew tied to US-Israel technology and research partnerships. Modern Hebrew has roughly 9 million speakers, about half of them native; biblical and liturgical Hebrew is a separate skill set, distinct from the everyday Hebrew used in Israeli paperwork.
