About Fijian Hindi Language

Fijian Hindi (Fiji Hindi) is the language spoken by Fijians of Indian descent — the descendants of 19th-century indentured labourers brought to Fiji from north India. It's a variety of Hindi shaped by long isolation, with distinctive vocabulary, simplified grammar, and significant Fijian and English loanwords. Around 460,000 Fiji Indians speak it, including substantial communities in Northern California (particularly Hayward and Sacramento), Vancouver, and Auckland. Our Fijian Hindi translation work is mostly USCIS civil documents and the family-court paperwork that comes with that established US community.
