Farsi — also called Persian — has around 110 million speakers across Iran, parts of Afghanistan (where the variant is called Dari), and Tajikistan (where it is called Tajik). In the United States the largest Iranian-American community is in greater Los Angeles, often called Tehrangeles, with further communities in Washington DC, the Bay Area, Houston, and New York.
