There is no single "Ethiopian" language — Ethiopia has more than 80 indigenous languages from several different families. The most-spoken include Amharic (the federal working language), Afaan Oromo (the largest by speaker count), Tigrinya (also spoken in Eritrea), and Somali (in the Somali Region). For US-bound translation work from Ethiopia, the practical question is which Ethiopian language the source document is in. We then assign the project to the appropriate specialist — see our separate pages for each Ethiopian language we handle.
