Crioulo refers to several closely related Portuguese-based creole languages spoken in West Africa, principally Cape Verdean Creole (Kriolu) of Cape Verde and Guinea-Bissau Creole (Kiriol) of Guinea-Bissau. Cape Verdean Creole has around 1 million speakers globally, with one of the largest diaspora communities in southeastern Massachusetts (Boston, Brockton, New Bedford). Our Crioulo translation work is mostly USCIS civil documents from Cape Verdean sources, alongside the academic and family-reunification paperwork tied to that long-established New England community.
