About Corsican Language

Corsican (Corsu) is a Romance language spoken on the French island of Corsica, with perhaps 100,000 active speakers. Linguistically it sits between Italian (particularly Tuscan dialects) and French, reflecting Corsica's geographical and historical position. The US Corsican-speaking community is essentially non-existent; translation requests are very rare and typically tied to genealogical research by Corsican-American descendants — particularly in California, where modest Corsican migration occurred in the late 19th century.
