Chaochow (Teochew, Chiu Chow) is a Southern Min Chinese variety spoken by around 10 million people primarily in the Chaoshan region of eastern Guangdong province, plus substantial diasporas across Southeast Asia (especially Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam) and onward to the United States. The Teochew-American community is concentrated in Brooklyn, Queens, Houston, and California's San Gabriel Valley. Our Chaochow translation work overlaps with broader Chinese translation — civil documents are usually in written Mandarin Chinese (Simplified or Traditional characters), with Teochew typically being the spoken language used in interpreting rather than document translation.
