About Bubi Language

Bubi is a Bantu language spoken by around 50,000 people on Bioko Island, Equatorial Guinea, where it is the language of the indigenous Bubi people. Spanish is Equatorial Guinea's main administrative language, so Bubi civil documents are rare — and the language is considered endangered, with younger generations shifting toward Spanish. Our Bubi translation work is essentially nonexistent in normal operations; any document from Bioko Island is usually in Spanish and routed to Spanish translation accordingly.
